BOB MORO: PGA GOLF PROFESSIONAL
BOB MORO: PGA GOLF PROFESSIONAL
PGA Professional
Bob is back from Florida!

Bob joined the teaching staff at The Fairview Golf Center in the winter of 2003. Bob has been a member of the PGA of America for 25 years. He was a teaching and playing professional at private country clubs in Westchester. He was the Head Golf Professional at Willow Ridge for three years, until he went to The Whippoorwill Club in Armonk, NY, where he remained the Head Professional for 18 years.

Throughout his career, Bob has always had a passion for playing golf when his schedule allowed him to do so. He has, and still does play on numerous tours from Canada to Florida, as well as several international events. He has competed in over 75 of the Metropolitan area’s top events such as the Met Opens, State Opens, Met PGA's, Westchester Opens and Westchester PGA's. Some of Bob’s recent finishes include winning the North Atlantic Tour 2001 Springfield Classic in Springfield, Mass; runner-up (lost in a play-off) in the 2001 Western Mass Open; 3rd place in the 2001 Met PGA Senior Championship; 2nd place in the 2001 Bermuda Open Senior Division (11th overall); and Winner of the2002 Moonlight Tour Championship Senior Division (6th overall) at Metro West GC in Orlando, Fla. In the last few years, Bob has qualified for and had strong finishes in many of the areas top events. He continues to play and participate in a passionate way.

Bob feels that there are two main reasons for choosing golf as a career. You love to play, and you love to teach others how to play. He has always seized the opportunity to take lessons from the great teachers of the game, such as Claude Harmon, Davis Love Jr., Jim McLean, and Fairview Golf Center’s Martin Nolletti, Sr. He has studied the methods and concepts of these teachers and many others, to develop an understanding of the golf swing, which he passes on to his students. Bob takes his knowledge of the swing and adapts it to the individual needs of the golfers that he teaches. He has taught golfers that range from beginners to celebrities and fellow professionals. Bob’s goal is to give the student an understanding of their swing and create a constructive direction for improvement. He wants his students to feel and recognize what they are doing right, what they should be doing to improve, and, at times, points out what they are doing wrong. Bob supplies his students with a strong application of golf’s proven basics in a way, which allows them to leave the lesson tee feeling good about their games with a desire to play and practice more.
