Solid Putting Green

I was in the market for a new putting green for the office since the old one was pretty beat up. I came across several fairly priced options, with the one most similar to the old putting green being listed here on Amazon as well. After reading the reviews, it gave me flash backs of the same problems we’d already have with the current green; it wrinkled up easily, the end of the green wouldn’t stay down for extended putts, and the felt material was cheap and creased up pretty easily.

Hopefully this translates to more putts made inside 10 ft?!

This is a nice little practice green. I did see others note that there were some areas that had creased while in the box. I too ran into that, but was able to get them to flatten out by putting boxes on top of the areas for a few days, not it sits flat. What I really like the most are the guidelines that run up towards the cup, you can really get a sense for how well your stroke is working. I also like the return mechanism, you only need 2 balls to have a continuous putting session.

I looked for some time to find my husband his birthday present. This product fit the bill. It has a long ‘putting green’ with a ball return. The balls never get stuck and always roll back to the putter. Year and a half and still looks new. I just vacuum it once in a while. It is popular with our friends and family that come to visit. It is almost like a magnet and everyone has to give it a try and they have fun with it. I took away a star because the price is quite high for a little molded plastic and a few yards of ‘indoor outdoor’ carpet felt.

Who needs powered ball returns?

This is an excellent putting mat without the need for a power source nearby, while still returning the ball. The mat arrived rolled up and permanently attached to the hole portion. Everything was in good shape and the ball return was easy to assemble and connect to the rest of the unit. Once the mat was unrolled I placed some old books on the end portion (rolled on the inside when received, therefore contained a slight curvature) for about two hours and it was completely flat. This mat has a nice, true roll and the ball is consistently returned down the ramp to where you are standing. The guide marks on the mat are a good tool to keep an eye on how straight you are putting and provide instant feedback. The only small issue was that one of the pieces for the ball return extension was slightly curved when it was received. All it took was a little gentle bending of the plastic and it was ready to go. This mat is definitely worth the money if you want to improve your distance control and make sure you are using a straight trajectory every time.

Pretty solid training tool. My only concern is that when I took it out of the box there was a slight crease across the putting surface. It’s as if someone tried to fold it instead of rolling it up to put it in the box. Luckily the crease seems to be smoothing out. This is a pretty straight forward tool to help you concentrate on hitting the ball square on your putter face. I like it.

I have mixed feelings / For the price, you cant beat it.
