Very Impressive Product

So let me start by saying I was torn between this product and the Orange Whip. I agonized over which one to go with. (I really didn’t want to purchase both of them.) I came away very happy with choosing the SKLZ Trainer.
Great for exercise and swing training

I saw the video of this that showed golfers using this to warm up before teeing off. Well, I decided to try it. This is what I thought of it:
This will be really good for me, I just have to pick it up an use it.

I have not hit a golf ball since getting this, but have been swinging it then a golf club. I think this might help me a lot, but it will take me some time to get the motor memory if and when I do golf. It is not the problem of the GFGT, but of the 72-year old inflexible operator.
It helped me, it could help you

I have the trainer for about 2 weeks now. I have been using it in my backyard a couple times a day. I am 60 years old in great shape but I’ve lost a lot of flexabilty; the Gold Flex really helps with this and has increased my range of motion on the back swing. I also live near a driving range and go there about 3 times a week. The first few times I went there after using Gold Flex I was a bit frustrated; I had some improvement, a little more distance and better follow through, but nothing major. Then yesterday at the range I took my driver, setup, relaxed and specifically tried to emulate that backswing I used with the Gold Flex. I connected, and holy smokes, the ball went sailing about 270 yards, and I was only hitting 230 yards when I conneced before. I teed up another ball and right up the middle, then 2 more, all at least 270 yards and dead straight or with a slight fade. All summer I have been going to the range and hadn’t been able to drive further than 230 yards, but within a couple of weeks with this product I was able to put together a pretty decent swing. For me it was all about that transition at the top off the swing, and keeping the right temp to generate that lag. I’m not writing this review to brag, I people hit i way further than me. I writing it because I thing it is a great product and may be able to help another frustrated old golfer if you are willing to put he time and thouht into it.
Would buy another one if I lost it.

I have been golfing for 9 years, took it up when I retired at age 65. In that period my handicap dropped from the mid-40s to about 20. However, age and recent illness have taken their toll so that when I am finally able to resume golf this season I am pretty certain my handicap be back up in the high 20s.
I have thought to exchange to 40 inches but I am pretty sure it will be too short

I am 5′ 7″ female and bought 48 inches after reading the review & Q&A.
A Magnificent Device for Timing, Tempo, Warmup

I’ve played golf for 55 years and carry an eight handicap. Drive about 240-250 yards. I’ve used dozens of training aids, and this could be the best one ever, well deserving as the #1 selling swing trainer on Amazon. Not complicated – just the swing it back and forth; it’s a strength and tempo tool, not for swing mechanics. As a warmup, nothing does the job as fast – maybe about ten swings; and it helps considerably with what’s probably the most important move in the golf swing – the transition at the top of the swing. Maybe the key word is “fluidity” best describe its key benefit. Combining fluidity with enhanced swing speed and balance via this device, I’m re-experiencing that wonderful feeling of “flushing” the ball every now and then. I may be a little too nutso about this trainer, but I received the 40″ model and have been so impressed that I just ordered the 48″ version also. A tip – put it in your bag and take five swings every three or four holes for muscle memory. It’s supposed to be bag-legal but I think you need to count it as one of your 14 permitted clubs.
A great golf investment

Read the reviews for the Orange Whip and SKLZ Gold Flex before purchasing. Many who owned both preferred this one. I purchased it to help me with my tempo, not necessarily distance. What I have found is my accuracy has improved substantially, and I have gained some additional yardage. I have a few other swing training aids, and this is hands down the very best I have used. Helps strength, timing, swing path, finish and is a very nice warm-up tool. Have recommended to friends at my club. I think it will be a great ally in the winter months as well.
Worth it 100%

I rarely write reviews but this thing is worth it. I’m a beginner golfer, just started a few months ago. I’m in my mid 20s and tall/athletic but struggled with the feel of golf swing. As a result I kept shortening my swing until I kept the ball in play. Using this stick for only a couple days fr a short period of time. It’s allowed me to discover a new feeling in my swing that I’ve never felt before. The speed of the swing. The right slot. The feeling j. Your arms, hands, shoulders, hips, back its all new and it translates to my clubs on the course. I hit the ball a lot more consistently and honestly I can hear a difference in the sound of the driver when I hit it. It’s fantastic. Buy it and you won’t be disappointed.
